Steve Urkel was the lovable character on a favorite childhood show of mine, Family Matters. That is why I was so sad to see this news. Our favorite stars usually disappoint because we are all in fact human, but every time I see a public (semi-public in this case) figure allegedly attack a woman , I die a little inside. There is never ever an excuse to be violent and the increasing rate of domestic violence occurrences in the US is very disturbing.
With more and more celebrities becoming involved in domestic violence/partner violence situations, is there something to be said for the nature of actors in particular? Or is this simply a reflection of the larger trend that sees increased domestic violence accross the country? I don't know, nevertheless, it is still wrong and very sad.
